I'm a junior studying Computer Sciences and Data Science at UW-Madison. Reach out if you'd like to learn more!
Contact MeRichard Feng is pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Data Science in his third year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, motivated by a passion for technology and programming. He enjoys exploring how computer sciences work to create innovative and efficient software solutions to tackle real-world issues. His interests span full-stack development, database management, and artificial intelligence. Other academic interests lie in data analysis, math, and astrophysics.
Over the years, he has gained a skill set that includes Java, Python, C++, R, and React, allowing for flexible and creative problem-solving from all sides. Still, Richard is constantly looking for ways to expand his knowledge in various fields within computer science, whether it be graphics, neural networks, or more. As Richard progresses in his career, he continues looking for opportunities to learn how to utilize computer sciences to its maximum potential to solve real-world issues.
Richard was born and raised in California. In his early years, he played games (Plants vs. Zombies was a favorite) and watched his brother and father code. This is how he was inspired to start coding at age 12, starting with projects like rock, paper, scissors, lizard, spock. This interest would continue into high school, where he discovered his passion for coding, creating a copy of the popular platformer Celeste and continuing to code past high school.
In the downtime between assignments and events, Richard loves playing guitar, writing, and producing his songs for fun. When blowing off steam, he can be found walking around Lake Mendota, playing pickleball, or exercising at the Nick’s. And after the day’s work is done, he’ll be playing games with friends.
